We are pleased to announce that Owens Cardiology at The Heart Clinic has begun pacemaker implantation in Whitfield Clinic.
This is the first time that pacemaker implantation is available locally in a private institution and complements our existing services in Whitfield Clinic, such as transoesaphageal echocardiography, loop recorder implantation and elective cardioversion.
Our ultimate aim is to deliver the full suite of cardiac services so that patients in the southeast (public and private) receive the same standard of care as other parts of the country. Pacemaker implantation at Whitfield Clinic is a step in the right direction.
Also, just to remind you, we now provide a full cardiac testing service at our new facility in the Williamstown Centre in Waterford City. Tests include echocardiography, exercise stress testing and heart rhythm monitoring.
Our goal at the Heart Clinic is to increase capacity in the healthcare system. We want to provide all patients with an enhanced level of cardiac services through easy direct access, reduced waiting times and top-quality facilities.
